What are the technical requirements and prerequisites for id-Force®?

Client
The application is 100 percent web-based, and does not require installation on the client side. All that is needed is a Web browser.

Firefox   Safari 3.0 or higher (for Apple Macintosh)


JavaScript must be activated in each browser. Cookies are not needed.

In principle, the application runs in any browser, but the display has been optimized for Internet Explorer 7.0 and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.

As regards the CPU speed and the main memory, all that is required is that the chosen browser can run on the client.

The size of the application display has been optimized for a resolution of at least 1280 x 1024. Scrolling is required for lower resolutions.

Printouts are generated in the form of pdf files.
Acrobat Reader version 5 or higher is required for display.

Server (Webserver)

Operating system:

Any server system can be used which can run a PHP-compatible web-server, such as Apache.
If a new web server and database system is to be installed for id-Force, we recommend an operating system for which an XAMPP package is available. This includes the Apache, MySQL and PHP modules in a certified combination.


IBYKUS supplies setups that have been developed and tested for the following operating systems:
  • Windows 2000, SP4
  • Windows XP, SP2
  • Windows 2003, SP2
  • SuSE Linux 10.0 Enterprise

Hardware requirements

The minimum hardware requirements are:
  • 1 GHz processor or faster
  • 512 MB main memory or more
  • 300 MB are initially required on the hard disk.
    The space requirement can greatly increase if the users upload a large number of attachments.

System software

Standard installation (id-Force | MySQL for Windows):

  • Included in the scope of supply: XAMPP package version 1.6.4
  

Expert installation:

Recommended web-server modules:

  • Apache 2.2.3 or higher
  • PHP 5.2.x

If none of these modules are available, we recommend the use of a certified XAMPP package, version 1.6.4 or higher.

Database:

  • MySQL 5.0.x
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or higher
  • Oracle 9 (9.2.0.8 or higher)
  • Oracle 10 (10.2.0.3 or higher)
    
Sending e-mails

id-Force sends e-mails via SMTP.
You can input your company's SMTP server as a system parameter.

Installation

The standard installation on a Windows system takes place entirely with the aid of an Installation Wizard. This installs and configures the required server modules, and installs the application.

A guide for configuring the modules and a set-up for installing the application are available for installation on a Linux system, and integration into a server system.
